Limitation and restriction Random Patterns and Random features All random features and patterns can have collision between the shapes. As the calculation rely on a randomness, the minimum gap will become a guideline only
Importing Tool Shape A custom tool shape can be imported only in DXF format. The shape that can be recognised in Image2Punch are Line, Arc and Circle. Other entity will not be recognised and can make some error. The center point of the shape should be place in (0,0) position
Special Character for tool naming Using Special Character when naming the tool in tool library are not allowed as this can make error when generating the DXF file. The recommended charcters should only be numerical and/or alphabet only.
Run in Administrator Mode In some cases, Image2Punch need to be run in Administrator Mode especially when it is installed for All Users. However, this Administrator Mode needs to be discussed with user I.T. officers.
Minimum Gap Tolerance and Accuracy of the output There is a rounding error when doing computation and the tolerance limit for minimum gap will be +/- 0.001 Unit Measurement. For most people this will not be matter. However for some people that required so much precision, this could be a problem and this is the limitation of Image2Punch.
Note:
– The recommendation image file is JPG and the image file size should not be very large as Image2Punch does not need a high resolution image to generate a pattern.
– Due to the limitation of memory for 32-Bit Windows application and from my experiences, 1 million holes is a safe number to generate pattern for 1 image using round tool type . If more than that number, application may crashed because not enough memory to compute.
– Honeycomb Pattern is only available for Image2Punch Pro version 8 and above
– Image2Punch Lite 7.x.x and Image2Punch Genesis 7.x.x are not maintain and they are in the final version.

Minimum Gap Tolerance for Image2Punch

Due to rounding error when doing computation, there will be tolerance limit for Minimum Gap that is specified for all uniform pattern ( i.e. Rectangle, Angle, Circular and Spiral ).  The tolerance for the gap will be +/- 0.001 Unit Measurement. For example, if the Minimum Gap is specified as 2.0mm, the final result when the distance measure in DXF file will be in between 1.999mm and 2.001mm as illustrated below. This tolerance will be mostly acceptable as the range is less than many CNC machine tolerance ( +/- 0.01 inch or +/-0.1 mm ).
