Pixel Dislocation

The image manipulation processes in the Pixel Dislocation control panel enable you to manipulate your image document by moving each pixel in the image document according to a particular algorithm for a desired effect. There are currently 14 features under the Pixel Dislocation control panel for performing image manipulation. All features can be performed by clicking the button associated with its function. Some will open a parameter dialog box when its button is clicked to allow definition of the parameter before the manipulation takes place.

 

Sphere

This is an image manipulation process that applies a sphere effect to your image document.

When you click Sphere, a dialog box opens to allow definition of the radius of the sphere in percentages either by using the slider control or an edit box.

Swirl

Swirl is an image manipulation process that applies a swirl effect to your image document.

When you click Swirl, a dialog box opens to allow definition of the swirl angle in percentages using either the slider control or an edit box.

Moiré

Moiré is an image manipulation process that applies a moiré effect to your image document.  

When you click Moiré, a dialog box opens to allow definition of the threshold of a moiré effect by using either the slider control or an edit box.

Wave

Wave is an image manipulation process that applies a wave effect to your image document.

When you click Wave, a dialog box opens to allow definition of the wave factor by using either the slider control or an edit box.

BackWarp

BackWarp is an image manipulation process that applies a BackWarp effect to your image document.

When you click BackWarp, a dialog box opens to allow definition of the BackWarp factor using either the slider control or an edit box.

Shear

Shear is an image manipulation process that applies a Shear effect to your image document.

 When you click Shear, the image manipulation is applied directly without the need to define any parameter.

Skew

Skew is an image manipulation process that skews your image document according to the defined angle. The skew angle ranges from -60 to 60 degrees. In the negative angle the image is skewed leftward and in the positive angle, the image is skewed rightward. The final size of your image document after skewing is longer in width according to the skew angle you have chosen.

Trim

Trim is the process of trimming the image on the defined side of your image document. Click the trim button on the control panel define the trim size in the trimming dialog box. The maximum pixel size that may be trimmed depends on the direction of the trimming and the size of the image. For example to trim the side of the image document top or bottom, the maximum pixel size that can be trimmed is the height of your image document minus one. On the other hand, to trim the left or right hand side of the image, the maximum trim size is the width of your image document.

Image Rotation

There are 4 features in this control panel by which you can rotate your image document in sophisticated ways; 90 Degree Clockwise Rotation, 90 Degree Counter Clockwise Rotation, 180 Degree Rotation and Arbitrary Rotation.

When you click Arbitrary Rotation, a dialog box opens allowing you to define the angle of rotation by using either the slider control or by using the edit box provided.

In all image rotation features, the size of your image document will change according to the new size after rotation has taken place.

Image Flipping

The last two features on the Pixel Manipulation control panel of the Navigator Bar in Imaging Design Environment are for image flipping in either vertically or horizontally.
